Melinda Boyd – Nutrition Consultant & Registered Dietitian in Rapid City, South
Dakota (relocated from Thetford, UK)
Melinda Boyd Nutrition (In a Nutshell Nutrition) provides nutrition counseling services in both individual and family based settings. Packages are available for one-on-one sessions, couples, and family centered nutrition counseling within the areas of weight management, vegetarian nutrition, women’s health, and chronic diseases associated with obesity where weight loss is central to disease management. The latest in nutrition research is used to guide individually based approaches to achieving client goals. Although education is a component, the focus is on counseling. This allows the client to be an important part of the goal setting process and central to driving their own success. Education is a one sided approach, whereas counseling provides the client with more control over their journey to becoming healthier. One-off appointments are available for those not ready to commit to regular follow up or looking for nutrition education only.
Melinda Boyd Nutrition also provides services in recipe analysis for both small and large projects. Melinda has analyzed more than 4000 recipes! This includes personal recipe collection analysis, complete cookbook analysis, and restaurant recipe analysis. Using specialized software the analysis is conducted based on details provided involving ingredients and cooking processes.
Lastly, Melinda Boyd Nutrition can provide nutrition lectures for a variety of settings on nutrition topics to meet your needs. This includes workplace and academic settings. Some of the past venues where Melinda has presented nutrition talks include workplace lunch and learn series, community health fairs, school health classes, and senior centers. Topics can be selected based on audience needs and the material is always tailored to be at the appropriate level.
